Research Manager, USA

Company/Industry background: Psyma is a privately held mid-size global market research company that was founded in Germany in 1957. Psyma’s U.S. practice was established in 1997 in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. We also have US offices in Brighton, MI and Dallas, TX.  Our purpose is to work closely with clients in the healthcare, automotive and consumer sectors to provide custom marketing research solutions that support their objectives and provide actionable insights.

Position Description: A Research Manager is responsible for supporting VP and (Sr) Account Directors on both qualitative and quantitative projects, including coordinating pre-fieldwork logistics, fieldwork data collection and management, and post-fieldwork analysis and reporting of domestic and international projects.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Overall coordination of project from initial RFP: Project manage, client contact, Project leader (internal), project identification, research, create questionnaires, identify logistics, coordinate facilities, identify screeners, track and submit costs.  Collect results of interviews, take notes, do analysis, write reports and PowerPoint presentations with results deliver, delivery to client, maintenance of continued client relationship and development
  • Assist in writing proposals as a result of RFP
  • Organize field work – participate in communication with clients and vendors, needs assessment, set up required services, determine costs, dates, times
  • Observe and oversee field work – assure execution of work is timely and of highest quality
  • Manages documentation of the research process (e.g. note taking)
  • Assist in development of questionnaires and other research tools
  • Assist analysis of data collected
  • Prepare and co-develops final reports/presentations (PowerPoint) under supervision of consultant or VP
  • Client contact/liaison
  • Supports management projects’ logistics from start to finish
  • Other duties as assigned 
  • Project logistics – site selection, city selection, provider coordination, schedule set-up and follow-up (Project organization)
  • Note taking, data analysis (quant/qual), report writing:  Convert data to useable information.
  • Assist presentation of final results to client
  • May attend trade shows/conferences as requested to assure continuous networking with current and future clients
  • US and international travel requirements
  • Assist briefing and debriefing moderators on projects
  • Stay current and comply with company’s and clients’ policies, procedures and training requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SPSS preferred.  Must have strong PowerPoint skills.

  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally as project works requires (estimated no more than 25% of work days)

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION BACKGROUND

  • Bachelor’s degree; prefer candidates with degrees in business, marketing, sales, graphic design, communications, market research, sociology, psychology, anthropology
    • 3-5 years of market research experience desired
